"Merry Christmas!" by Dr. Alva Jean Chesser December 17, 2018

The season which we are now enjoying is one of the most glorious seasons of our year!

We celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ!

Everyone who puts up a tree, buys a gift, or has any kind of party or celebration during this time, whether that one is a believer or not, is celebrating the birth of the King of kings and Lord of lords!

Without Christmas, the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ, there would be no occasion for the trees, gifts, parties, etc!

As I’ve pondered the birth of Jesus this week, I’ve thought of this little Babe Who was born to die for everyone in the world - past, present and future!

The Blood of Jesus was/is so potent that no other blood in the world can or could ever match it.

His Blood saves to the uttermost everyone who ever lived, from beginning of time to the end of time as we know it, if he/she confessed Jesus as Lord and believed in his/her heart that God raised Him from the dead!

His Blood, when we receive Him, washes away every one of our sins - and on top of that, He and the Father choose to never..ever..remember..them..again!!!

You might ask, “What makes the Blood of Jesus so potent?”

Thank you for asking!

You see, as I understand it, every baby’s blood comes from the father, and the Father of Jesus was our Heavenly Father!!

Jesus had no earthly father, therefore the Blood He shed was the very Blood of God!!

Oh! The wonder of it all!!!

The Father so LOVED the world, He sent His Beloved Son - for you and me!

Thank you, Father, for sending Your Beloved Son, Jesus Christ, into the world to shed His Precious Blood and die for us - and then to be raised up again, to ascend into heaven and be seated at Your Right Hand today!

Jesus so LOVED you and me, He willingly came - to show us the Face of our Father - and give us an entrance, through Him the Door, to spend eternity with Him and God, the Father!!

Thank You, Jesus, for Your being willing - from the foundation of the world - to descend onto the earth to be born in that lowly stable in Bethlehem and be one of us for 33 years, only for us, the purpose for which You came!!

How grateful and thankful I am this Christmas season for His wonderful, wonderful LOVE!!

"Good Friday!" Dr. Alva Jean Chesser  March 30, 2018

A chorus we used to sing, and so appropriate for this day, Good Friday!

Oh, how HE loved you and me!
Oh, how HE loved you and me!
HE gave His life -
What more could HE do?
Oh, how HE loved you!
Oh, how HE loved me!
Oh, how HE loved you and me!l

It all pertains to Jesus Christ, Who came to earth as a baby, for the only purpose of giving His life for you and for me!

Jesus paid such a price for you and for me! Have we received and are we walking in all that He paid for us?

1. Praying in the Garden until His sweat became as blood!
“And being in agony, He prayed more earnestly. Then His sweat became like great drops of blood falling down to the ground.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭22:44‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

2. Greatly Bruised, and His blood flowed under His skin!
“But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭53:5‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

3. SCOURGED, and His blood flowed!
So then Pilate took Jesus and SCOURGED Him.”
‭‭John‬ ‭19:1‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
(Scourging was a brutal punishment, but it was standard practice before a crucifixion. The whip, the flagellum, had several thongs, each one of which had pieces of bone or metal attached. It made a bloody pulp of a man's body.

4. A crown of thorns place upon His brow until His blood flowed!
“And the soldiers twisted a crown of thorns and put it on His head, and they put on Him a purple robe.”
‭‭John‬ ‭19:2‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

5. & 6. Nailed through His hands and His feet to the cross, and His blood flowed!
“Now it was the third hour, and they crucified Him.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭15:25‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
(Jesus would have been made to lie with his back on the ground and his arms stretched out so that the soldiers could nail through his lower forearm or wrist into the wooden cross-beam.

7. And a sword thrust though His side, and His blood flowed!
“But one of the soldiers pierced His side with a spear, and immediately blood and water came out.”
‭‭John‬ ‭19:34‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

In Seven places His blood was shed for you and for me!

And as Jesus drew His last breath, He spoke, "IT IS FINISHED!"
“So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit.”
‭‭John‬ ‭19:30‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Oh, how HE loved you and me!
Oh, how HE loved you and me!
HE gave His life -
What more could HE do?
Oh, how HE loved you!
Oh, how HE loved me!
Oh, how HE loved you and me!

May you be blessed and move into all the things for which Jesus gave His life!

Testimony about Faith Of My Father, the book by Dr. Alva Jean Chesser

Larry W. Smith

I had Emma Ross Fisher loan me her book this past Sunday, you wrote, WILLIAM F. MORRIS, FAITH OF MY FATHER.

I have laugh and cried as I read and recalling some of these events your father recorded!
So many I recalled being told by my Grandmother, Mother and Father!

My wife's Grandmother Marie Stoppe Willison, was sister to Aunt Claira Stoppe Koshewitz, and Uncle Henry and Aunt Violet Stoppe, and Aunt Helen!

What a heritage, what A Great Family!

I was reading your book at Lunch Sunday in Ruby Tuesday and was reading about Dot Steve Stevens when I spotted their daughter Rene and her Husband Lennie Swann! I ran over to their table and read them that portion! Of course Rene already had read, but tears flowed down my face as I could picture the scenes!
I told her I would love to hear her Mom and Her Aunt Blanch sing again! Of course, they made the best pies too!

Thank you for writing this important book! I'm glad your father wrote about me! I still recall the night I had to go to the bathroom down in the basement of the Church when Sally turned out the lights of the entire Church! I recall screaming to the top of my lungs because I was so scared in the dark all alone at five years old down in the basement until my father came and got me and led me out! I read this portion to my bride as she just had heard the story told by my father many years ago! we all laughed!

Sis Sally, I can laugh now, but it wasn't funny then to a scared little boy! LOL,
